What does it cost to sign up for Edge Logistics via Kinek? And is the facility climate / temperature controlled?

    Thanks!

Hi Rowena! Thanks for the question. There is no cost to sign up, you only pay when you pick up your package. The KinekPoint is heated so it doesn’t reach freezing if that’s what you’re thinking. Did you need something refrigerated?

      Hi Boddanna,

You can view the cost per package and their hours by searching for their location on Kinek’s website. They start at $5 per package and it goes up by weight. They are also conveniently open on Saturday’s.

You can sign up for the service over at kinek.com to receive the full shipping address and to also receive email and text message alerts when your package(s) arrive.

Do I have to declare when I cross the border? If so, what is a limitation I am allowed to bring back to Canada? I am looking forward to a response. Thanks a lot in advance.

Do you have any locations or recommendations that provide the same service in or around Portland Oregon?

    • Jeremy July 4, 2011 at 5:40 am #

      Hi Sam,

To look for locations that are not along the border you can visit http://www.kinek.com and click on ‘Find a KinekPoint’. I don’t believe there is a current location in Portland, Oregon at the moment however.

Hello, can anyone be designated to pick up the package? ie if I have a friend going across the border (I live a fair ways from Blaine), can I designate that person?
    Thanks.

    • James October 24, 2011 at 1:25 pm #

      Hi Murray,
That isn’t a problem. Just be sure to provide a copy of your ID and order confirmation to your friend. To make it easier, you can also have your friend set up a Kinek account under their name and then order the item using their Kinek address. This way we only need to check their ID and it will make it easier for them to cross the border with your order.

Hello I’m looking to send a package for purse to Edge Logistics Kinek point.
When I cross the border, how do I need to report for my purpose of trip?
And do you guys notify customers after you receive the package?

    • Jeremy April 11, 2012 at 7:46 am #

      Hi Jiyun,

You would be honest and say you are picking up a package at your KinekPoint. Border officials are use to hearing this! We notify users via email, optional text, and we also have an iPhone and Android app that you can track your packages on and receive push notifications.

    Hi there!

I have just signed up with Kinek and shipped a package to Edge Logistics (Blaine). My question is how long does Edge Logistics generally take to update the Kinek info with regards to the arrival of my package. Is it possible for me to head down there once my UPS tracking info is updated or must I wait for Edge Logistics/Kinek to contact me first? I am asking because i need to travel overseas as soon as I receive the package and any form of speeding up of the process will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for reading!

    • Jeremy April 26, 2012 at 8:54 am #

      Hi Justin,

It usually takes a few hours for Edge Logistics to process all the packages. If you’re travelling from Canada you could head down as soon as UPS tracking shows as delivered. This would give them a few hours to enter it while you’re travelling. The only possible issue with this if it was being delivered by USPS. They sometimes show items as delivered when they are actually only at the local post office. We’ve had this happen before.

    Hello,

How long do you guys keep the package?
It might be a few months before I pick up my package because I will be going on vacation so
can you please let me know?

    Thank you

    • Jeremy June 1, 2012 at 5:18 am #

      Hi Megs,

Our KinekPoints can store items for up to 30 days unless otherwise specified on their profile. If you needed a couple months I would suggest signing up and then calling your KinekPoint directly to see if you can work out what extended storage costs would be if they allowed it.

  12. Christie June 4, 2012 at 10:23 am #

What happens after 30 days? I have a small package there that I need to pick up, but your hours do not work with my schedule (I didn’t check that before I signed up with you).
It is a very small package – probably only 1 lb.

What are the fees after 30 days? Or is there a way you can forward it into Canada?

    Thank you,
    Christie

    • Jeremy June 5, 2012 at 5:50 am #

      Hi Christie,

It is highly recommended that you pick up your item within the 30 day limit. KinekPoints can charge extended storage fees under their own discretion after 30 days. You would need to contact them directly to find out what these fees are. You can have a friend pick up the package. They will need a copy of your photo ID and the receipt for the item with them.
