Finding Your US Shipping Address
This article describes how you can save hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars by ordering from US websites and having your orders shipped to a border KinekPoint that acts as your US Shipping Address. We notify you when it gets there, and securely store it until you pick it up.

First Off, What is a Border KinekPoint?
Our Border KinekPoints specialize in receiving packages for Canadian cross border shoppers and act as their US shipping address. Once your package arrives we notify you and then store it securely until you come to pick it up. All of our locations are just a few minutes’ drive past the border and are located at almost every major border crossing in Canada. In order to ship to one of our locations, you simply need to sign-up for a free account at Kinek.com and choose a location to ship to.
How Do Border KinekPoints Save Me Money?
- Many companies do not ship to Canada. This often means you have to buy the item for upwards of 40-50% more in Canada, and sometimes it isn’t even sold locally!
- Even when companies DO ship to Canada, their shipping charges are often far too expensive. By using a border KinekPoint as your US shipping address, you can get your package at the border without paying those expensive fees.
- Brokerage fees. These are those nasty fees that are charged in order to process your item at customs. These often aren’t factored in during the checkout process and you are made to pay them when the item arrives at your doorstep. By using a US border KinekPoint as your US border shipping address, you don’t spend a dime on these fees.
OK, So How Much Does It Cost to Use a KinekPoint?
This is the best part, even though shipping to one of our US Border KinekPoints can save you hundreds, or thousands of dollars, we don’t charge anything to sign-up for the service. The only fee your EVER pay is when you pick-up a package. For the vast majority of our locations, we only charge $5 for packages under 10lbs. Don’t let that 10lbs fool you though, most of our locations will accept packages of any size or weight! We just charge more depending on how large/heavy your item is, and all this information can be found on each KinekPoint’s profile page over at Kinek.com. More on that later. though.
How Long Do I Have to Pick-up My Package?
You have 30 days from the delivery date to pick-up your package. However, we understand that in sometimes you can’t make it down that soon, so if you contact your KinekPoint, they are usually more than happy to accommodate the package for longer. Just keep in mind there will be an additional storage fee for that item depending on how large it is. We are more than happy to act as your US Shipping Address, but only have so much space 
Finding a Border KinekPoint to Use as Your US Shipping Address
Kinek has border KinekPoints in the following US cities:
Champlain, NY (on the way to Plattsburg)
Wellesley Island, NY (only 35 minutes from Kingston, ON)
Pembina, ND (South of Winnipeg)
Oroville, WA (South of Kelowna and Osoyoos)
Blaine, WA (Serving Vancouver and surrounding area)
How Do I Ship to a Border KinekPoint?:
- Sign-up for a free Kinek account at www.Kinek.com
- Complete your profile page. (You must do this before choosing a KinekPoint to use as your US shipping address.)
- Click on, the icon that says “Choose a KinekPoint”
- You will be given a few different options to located a KinekPoint. Click on the link next to the sentence that reads “Canadians, looking for a US shipping address along the US border? Click here”.
- Choose a KinekPoint. (The map will now display that area, the map will display any KinekPoint locations with markers on the map. It will also list the locations to the left of the map. Click on either the marker, or the name of the location to view their KinekPoint profile page)
- Click on the “Show Pricing Details” link to read over the size/weight limits, receiving fee, hours of operation, accepted payment methods, and additional info section for that KinekPoint.
- Save that KinekPoint. Click on the green Save KinekPoint buttton. This will set this location as your default KinekPoint. You can change to another one at any time.
That’s It! Your new Kinek US Shipping Address will now be displayed in your profile page along with your Kinek#. You simply use that address when ordering online. Your package will arrive at our location and we’ll notify you right away. ALWAYS be sure to include your Kinek number when ordering, this ensures we can keep track of your package and notify you when it arrives.
Once you receive your notifications, you can then cross the border at a time of your convenience and pick up your package.

Simply go to www.kinek.com and search the name of the border city you are interested in. This will display the Kinek Points they have in that city (sometimes you need to pan around the map to find one) and you can then sign-up to use that location as your US shipping address.
If you can’t find a Kinek Point in your border town, don’t worry, we also have a feature that allows you to recommend a location.
This is really an amazing service. It save a lot of dollars and provides a time frame of 30 days to picking up. Great Service for U.S. and Canada citizens. I love it and using it from last 1 year.But this service should be expendable to others countries also.

Sorry, KinekPoints do not forward onto Canada for security reasons.
Your service sounds like a great idea , the only problem is many companies will ship ONLY to the address connected to the credit card. Any ideas?

Actually most companies do ship to any valid shipping address. Some limited and specific credit cards will only allow the shipment of goods to an address attached to it, and a few companies limit themselves by only shipping to the billing address. Again, this is the minority for sure and some people simply add their KinekPoint address to their credit card as a secondary address.
Hey i’m just Wondering if there are any extra costs and what they would be. I understand it’s $5 upon pickup if the package is 10lbs or under, whats the cost if the item is heavier or larger?

The costs for over 10 lbs are displayed once you sign up. Singing up is free as well.
I keep traveling to the US so I just have the items shipped to my US address but this will probably make it so much more convenient. Sometimes (well almost always) waiting for months when I travel to US isn’t an option so I end up coughing up the extra shipping cost.

What can we do if we don’t have a car? I’m a student and am looking at buying textbooks for cheaper prices and online seems the best way to go since school bookstores are always way overpriced.
You’re best bet is to tell other students about Kinek and get a carpool going. Someone has a car on campus! You would all save lots!
Do you guys ship airsoft guns to us adresses? Im canadian and i dont want to pay $500 for a gun I can get for $50
Airsoft guns under Canadian regulation are ok. Kinek does not accept any type of real guns however.

We noticed you just signed up for a Kinek account yesterday. You can only be notified via email if you have a Kinek account and you can only ship to a Kinek location by creating an account first. Please also visit http://www.kinek.com and use the support page for any package related questions.
Do you accept alcohol. There are certain brands of liquor that are not available near the Canadian border.

Firstly, I am thinking of ordering 2-3 different items from amazon with different companies, if I collect them on the same day, will I still be charged as ONE collection ($4.00) or per items even if the total weight is less than 10lb?
Secondly, do you accept parcels from courier company, e.g. UPS, DHL, etc.
Third, after I signed up I saw my address as:

Hello, i am looking to order Dead, Dried Insects for an Collection. I live in Canada and am ordering them from the USA. The Canadian Food Inspections Agency does not regulate the movement of Dead Insects across borders. My Question is if i live across the border and am within driving distance, can i come pick up package myself and take over the border or does it have to go through a service.

Just curious, would the Blaine crossing have any problems accepting 5 vehicle tires, dimensions 35″x12.5X, total weight of the 5 tires being 300lb?

Hello, I am looking to buy items online, but the website do not accept a Canadian Billing Address for the Credit Card Payment. How does this work?

Most people just enter in the KinekPoint address as the billing as well if that’s all that’s offered.
You just pay HST at the border when bringing your items back. There’s no import or brokerage fees.

You would need to sign up for an account to recieve the address. Each person recives a Kinek# when you sign up which is embedded in the address. The location in Blaine, Washington currently charges $5 per package for any package under 100 lbs.
If I get something shipped to a kinek point, do I have to pay duty on it when I bring it into Canada?

You would just be paying the HST of the province you’re entering into. There’s no taxes or import fees since you’re bringing the item back across yourself. If you stay in the US more than 24 hours you can cross tax free under certain limits as well.

You should ask Canadian border services if your item is legal to bring into Canada before purchasing.

At this time, Kinek does not offer package forwarding services. Instead, you, a family member, or friend would need to pick up the package from one our KinekPoints. A family member or friend would need a copy of your photo ID and the receipt for the item to pick-up on your behalf.

Kinek provides full shipping addresses. However, if the company only ships to the PayPal address you’re typical out of luck. In that case I suggest calling the retailer and asking them if they can provide any other options. Sometimes you can try inserting the KinekPoint address as the billing as well and see if it goes through.

Each location in the Kinek network has different limitations, but many offer skid/pallet storage for (x) amount of days. Once you sign up for the service you can conveniently select different locations to see what they offer.
